- On Sunday, I wrote a Forbes post in which I quoted two experts interpreting China’s H-6K nuclear-capable bomber flight over Scarborough Shoal (Panatag Shoal), which is within the Philippine exclusive economic zone (EEZ). One expert argued that the flight was strategic signalling by China and should be taken as a reminder of the threat against the U.S. — a demonstration of resolve over the 9-dash line after the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling. The other expert argued that the flight could be for domestic consumption only.
