- India will invite the heads of state for government of all 10 Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states for the Republic Day parade and celebrations on January 2018 to translate India’s ‘Act East Policy’ into action. This could the first time ever for many Asian leaders together to be chief guests at the parade showcasing India’s military might. The gathering will be much bigger than what Modi had gathered when he invited all the leaders of SAARC countries for his oath ceremony way back in 2014.
