APPFI Chairman Raphael Lotilla and President Aileen Baviera were both invited to a workshop co-organized by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Jakarta and China’s National Institute for South China Sea Studies, titled “Partnership for Regional Peace: Operationalising ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in Southeast Asia.”. The workshop was held in Jakarta on 14-16 September 2015, co-chaired by Mr Jusuf Wanandi for CSIS and Dr Wu Shicun for NISCSS.

Pasig, Philippines: Key think tank figures, business groups, and government agency representatives gathered to discuss the status of Philippines-China trade and investments at a roundtable discussion organized by the Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress Foundation, inc. (APPFI), in cooperation with the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), last June 11, 2015 at the Astoria Plaza.


MAKATI, Philippines – Policy thinkers from various sectors met for a high-level Consultation Workshop on China’s impact on the Philippines and ASEAN, organized by the Asia Pacific Pathways to Progress Foundation, Inc. (APPFI) and Asian Institute of Management's ASEAN 2015 Project last July 10, 2015 at the Soriano Room in AIM Makati.

APPFI President Dr. Aileen Baviera was invited to present at a plenary session of the annual Asia-Pacific Roundtable organized by the Institute for Strategic and International Studies of Malaysia, in cooperation with the ASEAN ISIS network of think tanks. The APR was held from June 1-3 this year. Delivering the keynote address was Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak. The topic of Dr Baviera's panel was China's New Strategic Initiatives, and her paper expounded on these as well as explored the implications for Southeast Asia.
